Entertainment & Specialty Project Roundup

The White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group is expanding Putter’s Paradise, a 10-year old family entertainment center located in Lee’s Summit, MO. Putter’s Paradise currently comprises a 3,500 sq.ft. clubhouse building, two miniature golf courses, an eight-station outdoor batting cage, an indoor arcade and a 17 tee-station golf driving range. The clubhouse includes an area for birthday parties, a small combined snack/redemption counter and a small game room with 21 games. The redevelopment includes a two-story, 30,000 sq.ft. building to replace the existing clubhouse building, which along with the driving range, will be removed to make room for expanded parking and new outdoor attractions, including a go-kart track. Putter’s Paradise will remain open until Winter 2002 when the existing clubhouse will be demolished. One half of the first floor of the new building will feature a children’s "edutainment" center, which will be designed for families with children up to age eight. The center also will feature 14 unique play areas for children. The adventure play garden will use immersion landscaping, with three different areas — the Midwest prairie, the river and tropical rainforest. The children’s adventure play garden will feature a live river otter habitat that will tie-in with the center’s new environmental theme and river otter mascot character. The building’s first floor also will house the family entertainment area with a Foam Factory, bumper karts, mini-bowling, rock climbing and a large game room with more than 60 redemption skill games. In addition, the redeveloped center will include a cafe area that includes children’s and gourmet fresh baked pizza, submarine sandwiches, fresh salads and a coffee and espresso bar. The second floor of the building will have six birthday party rooms and a large multi-purpose room that will accommodate up to 150 people for special celebrations. The project is scheduled to be completed during April 2003.
