MCG Names Director of Design

MCG Architecture named Mark Giles director of design for the firm’s Pasadena office. Giles, who joined the 10-office firm in 1997, is currently overseeing design content for HK Marketplace, a new three-story enclosed retail center in Los Angeles’ Koreatown.

BayWalk Gets General Manager 

The Sembler Company brought Jill A. Connolly on board as general manager of the BayWalk entertainment retail project in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. She will be responsible for facilities operation and marketing endeavors.

BayWalk is a 160,000-sq.ft. open-air themed plaza set to open this fall. The retail entertainment complex will feature a central pedestrian plaza surrounded by shops, restaurants and a 20-screen Muvico theater.

Prior to joining The Sembler Company, Connolly was an account executive with the Becker Group and a regional manager for Venator Group.

King Named VP of Leasing at North Hills Mall

Burk Collins & Co., owner of the North Hills Mall in North Richland Hills, Texas, named Steve King as vice president of leasing at the center. He will be responsible for leasing space at the center as it undergoes a $100-million expansion and brings a variety of entertainment options to the surrounding area.

King, who has 29 years of experience in the retail industry, most recently served two years as leasing representative for Ridgmar in Fort Worth, Texas. He has also served as president of the real estate division and corporate vice president of real estate at the Bombay Co. and vice president of development at Gloria Jeans Coffee.

Construction on the North Hills Mall expansion will begin late this fall. The renovations will include a three-acre fountain plaza, an 18-screen theater with stadium seating, an ice skating rink for professional hockey and public skating, an expanded food court, and the addition of numerous full-service restaurants and specialty retailers.
