CB Richard Ellis is marketing the Golden Valley Ranch in Santa Clara, CA, a 575,000 sq.ft. lifestyle shopping center on the Antelope Valley Freeway between Golden Valley Road and Via Princessa. Anchor tenant space is available. Traffic counts on the Antelope Valley Freeway are estimated at 111,000 cars per day. Competition in the area includes the Valencia Town Center Mall anchored by an Edward’s 10 Plex, Borders Books, Music & Cafe, BJ’s Chicago Pizza & Brewery, Sears, Robinsons May and JC Penney; and a HOWS Market, TJ Maxx, Ralph’s, Sav-on, Food 4 Less, Longs, Newburys, Albertson’s, Costco, Vons and Rite Aid.

J.H. Snyder Co. is developing the La Brea Gateway Project in West Hollywood, CA, a 4.82-acre $85 million mixed-use development project to feature retail and restaurant space, office space, underground parking and an open-air plaza. Groundbreaking is expected to take place by the end of this year.

River Bend Limited Partnership is developing Phase II of The Shops at the Old Mill District in Bend, OR. The project will add four buildings totaling 20,000 sq.ft. to the center which is anchored by a 10-screen Regal Cinema, Eddie Bauer, The Gap, Gap Kids, Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. Phase II is scheduled to open summer 2002.

Bozzuto Development Co. plans to develop a 300,000 sq.ft. commercial project in the downtown Wheaton area of Montgomery County, MD. The project will feature 16,000 sq.ft. of retail space along Georgia Avenue and should be complete in 2005.

Maguire Partners has purchased the rights to develop a 2.2 million sq.ft. mixed-use project called The Campus at Playa Vista in Los Angeles, CA. The project is situated on 114 acres and will consist of 11 buildings situated around a eight-acre central park. The development will include a fitness center and retail space to support the sound stages and high-tech office space planned for the historic buildings including the Spruce Goose Hangar.

Drake Corrigan Real Estate Services is developing the 75,000 sq.ft. Shoppes at MICC in Miami-Dade County, FL. The project is located in Doral/Airport West on Northwest 25th Street and 79th Avenue west of the Palmetto Expressway. Prospective tenants include Starbucks Coffee, Offerdahl’s Eat Fresh, Quizno’s Subs, Pomerantz Staffing Services and Wireless Telecom Group. The firm is also marketing Amerisuites Plaza, a 30,000 sq.ft. Class "A" mixed-use retail and office space center east of Weston Road and North Commerce Parkway in Weston, FL. Construction will be complete in September.

Meredith & Grew, Inc. is marketing the Charlestown Gateway in Boston, MA, expected to open in the first quarter of 2002. Two buildings, totaling 194,000 sq.ft., will house 39,000 retail sq.ft. on street level. On-site parking will accommodate 414 cars. Traffic counts in the area are estimated at 175,000 cars per day, and a population of 339,293 earning a median household income of $44,083 resides within three miles.

Vestar Development Company is developing the Santee Trolley Square in Santee, CA, a $50 million project on 50 acres slated to provide 428,000 sq.ft. of retail space for stores, restaurants and specialty outlets. The property is located next to the Santee Transit Center on the corner of Mission George Road and Cuyamaca Street. Population figures within a five-mile radius are estimated at 263,987 earning an average household income of $56,190. The center is expected to open in 2002.

Parkside Associates is developing four parcels of land near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center into a mixed-use community of commercial space and 600 residential units. The project, commissioned by the New Newark Foundation to revitalize the downtown section of the city, will feature 190,000 sq.ft. in retail stores, restaurants and entertainment establishments. Phase I of the project is slated to begin in Spring 2002, with construction on Phase II following in Spring 2004.
