Zimmer Development Co. and BrodyCo are developing Mayfaire, a center located at the intersection of Military Cut Off Road and Eastwood Road in Wilmington, NC. Westfield Shoppingtown Chesterfield is planning to develop a site that includes a 14-screen AMC theater, restaurants and retail space. The theater, originally announced in April, will be built on the site of the current JCPenney store, which will close in January. It will feature AMC’s stadium seating, digital surround sound, loveseat-style seating and an automated box office. Opening is slated for 2005. In addition, the development will include restaurants with outside dining, individual and common area entrances and an additional 50,000 sq.ft. of retail space around the theater, with some storefronts opening onto the parking lot. A site located at 115 16th Avenue South in Nashville, TN is being developed as a live entertainment and dining venue. The building is a half-acre plot adjacent to Roundabout Plaza, a nine-story retail and office development currently under constuction. Bob Doyle, owner of Major Bob Music and co-owner of Garth Brooks Management partnered with Kelly Brooks, previously with Garth Brooks Management, to acquire the site. Doyle and Brooks are developing the venue with Pino Squillace, former partner and operator of Caffe Milano. The three are planning to raze the existing one-story building.
