The 82-acre, mixed-use development will have a GLA of 215,000 sq.ft. and will include a hotel, fitness center, recreational pond, boardwalk and amphitheatre. Area demographics include a population of 126,797 within a 30-minute drive earning $60,099 as the average household income. General Growth Properties is expanding Clackamas Town Center located in Portland, OR. The 18-month expansion will add 240,000 sq.ft. of space and 40 new stores and restaurants. The newly-refurbished mall also will include niche shops, a renovated food court, full-service restaurants and a state-of-the-art stadium-style Century Theatres cinema. The design of the center will feature a streetscape, two outdoor villages and a pedestrian-friendly series of shops.

Bignell Watkins Hasser is developing Dulles 28 Centre, a 300,000 sq.ft. lifestyle center located at interchange of Routes 28 and 625 at Pacific Boulevard in Loudoun County, VA. The center will feature shops, restaurants and other large retailers. The center is currently anchored by a Wegmans Food store and a Residence Inn. Construction is slated to begin early next year on the lifestyle component. New inline stores, including mini-anchors and restaurants will complete the merchant mix. The center will feature several pedestrian plazas, as well as restaurant courtyards linked with walkways.

Polaris Real Estate Co. and Bloomington Group, LLC are planning to develop Shelburne Plaza, a large-scale urban project located on the south side of downtown Lexington, KY. The mixed-use project, valued at more than $70 million, will be developed on the site of the former tobacco warehouse at the intersection of South Broadway, Combs Street and Pine Street. The development encompasses three buildings, with heights varying between four and seven stories, situated on a land area of 4.71 acres. The site will have an interior courtyard open for retail parking and areas for outdoor entertainment use. Shelburne Plaza will house 250 apartment units with two to four bedrooms. Approximately 80,000 sq.ft. of retail space will occupy multiple stories and is anticipated to become home to a supermarket, shops and restaurants. All restaurants will be mandated to include outdoor seating. The center will offer an urban village appearance, with a brick and limestone façade. The development will also be just three blocks from the University of Kentucky. Construction is expected to begin during next summer, with completion slated for the middle of 2008.

J.H. Snyder Co. is developing NoHo Commons, a $200 million, mixed-use, transit-oriented project located adjacent to the North Hollywood Red Line subway station in North Hollywood, CA. The retail section of the center is currently more than 80% preleased. The center will be anchored by a 32,000 sq.ft. HOWS Market and will be cotenanted by Wells Fargo Bank and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The center is near the Metro Orange Line, which is a 14-mile transitway between North Hollywood and Woodland Hills/Warner Center, CA. The center is located near the Academy of Television Arts, is immediately north of Universal Studios and west of Burbank, the headquarters for Walt Disney Co., NBC, the West Coast operations of ABC and Warner Bros.

Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse is developing Brewers Hill, a historic renovation of two landmark breweries, the Gunther Brewery and the former National Brewery, in Baltimore, MD. The breweries are located in the heart of Baltimore’s revitalized Canton neighborhood, just one block from the waterfront. The project currently includes 737,000 sq.ft. of office and warehouse space on 27 acres. Plans for the project include transforming the existing block into a work, live and shop community with easy access to Baltimore’s waterfront. The master plans include the conversion of 11 buildings into 400,000 sq.ft. of Class-A office space, flex/warehouse, 90,000 sq.ft. of retail space and high-end residential units, including 100 apartments and lofts. The Natty Boh building will include 175,000 sq.ft. of office/retail/residential, while Malt Mill will include 152,000 sq.ft. of office/flex/warehouse space and the Grain Building will include 8,000 sq.ft. of office/retail/residential space. Other buildings include the Lager Building (24,000 sq.ft. of office space), Barrel Building (15,000 sq.ft. to 25,000 sq.ft. of office/flex/warehouse space), Ale Building (137,000 sq.ft. of office/residential), Hops Building (52,000 sq.ft. of office/warehouse space), Pilsner Building (66,000 sq.ft. of office/residential), Stout Building (6,000 sq.ft. of office/retail), Barley Building (52,000 sq.ft. of flex/office/retail) and The Shops at Brewers Hill (50,000 sq.ft. of retail/office/flex space).
