Entertainment & Specialty Project Roundup Vision Land Development is planning to convert a former Cincinnati Milacron plant in Oakley, OH into a $225 million shopping, entertainment and office complex. The center would be situated on a land area of 70 acres and feature an 18-screen movie complex with amenities such as a bar, cafe and VIP seating. Anchor tenants would include a bookstore, a sporting goods superstore, gourmet supermarket, department store and possibly a fitness center and hotel. The project is slated for opening next year. The site is located near Cincinnati Center, which features Target, Circuit City and Meijer. O&S Holdings, LLC and Riverwalk Entertainment, LLC are developing Louisiana Riverwalk, a center located along the Red River in Shreveport, LA. The center is neighbor to the 700-room Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, Casino Magic, Isle of Capri and Hollywood Complex. The center is tenanted by 200,000 sq.ft. of outlet stores, a 110,000 sq.ft. Simon Property Group, Inc. entered into an agreement with the city of McAllen, TX to control 70 acres for the purpose of developing Palms Crossing, a 650,000 sq.ft. mixed-use project located at the intersection of Ware Road and Expressway 83. Palms Crossing would include a mix of large anchor tenants, inline retail shops and restaurants. A total of approximately 440,000 sq.ft. would be devoted to anchor/junior anchor stores in primarily one-level format buildings. Additionally, about 160,000 sq.ft. would consist of retail shops ranging from 2,000 sq.ft. to 15,000 sq.ft. each. There is the possibility of as many as 10 to 15 restaurants at the center, both inline and freestanding. The restaurants would be encouraged by the company to incorporate outside dining patios facing landscaped parks, architectural features and other amenities. Kushner Cos. is planning to develop Cranford Crossing, a residential and retail development located one block from the train station in Cranford, NJ. Construction of the $16 million project is expected to commence during early Spring 2004. The project will feature 50 luxury condominiums homes and approximately 22,000 sq.ft. of retail space in two buildings. The project will feature concierge and special services, an exercise room and other amenities. In addition, the company will develop the first municipally-owned parking garage in Cranford. CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. and The MGHerring Group are developing the Imperial Valley Mall, a single-level 741,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of State Route 31 and Chick Road in El Centro, CA. The enclosed regional center will have four department stores, including a 130,000 sq.ft. Sears, an 81,000 sq.ft. JCPenney, a 147,000 sq.ft. Dillard’s and a 140,000 sq.ft. Robinsons-May.
