Coyote Named Leasing Agent for Sunrise Mall

Dallas-based Coyote Management, L.P. was awarded the leasing contract for Sunrise Mall in Corpus Christi, Texas. The 800,000-sq.ft. center, owned by Today Realty, is anchored by Sears, Montgomery Ward and Burlington Coat Factory and is located at the intersection of Airline Road and South Padre Island Drive.

Coyote’s management portfolio includes several other malls. Recent personnel changes at Coyote include the promotion of Marie L. Gerdes to leasing representative. She brings to the firm more than 13 years of shopping center industry experience, including positions as a real estate legal assistant for a Dallas law firm and as property manager for The Lehndorff Group of Companies. David A. Grant was also named as a leasing representative. Before joining Coyote Management, Grant worked in both residential and commercial real estate. His 30 years in the industry include positions with S & S Properties, Inc., Continental Properties, and his own business, Grant Realty Company.

Futterman To Lease 1350 Avenue of Americas

Robert K. Futterman & Associates, LLC was appointed exclusive leasing agent by Reckson Associates for 1350 Avenue of the Americas in New York City. The 500,000-sq.ft. Class A office building offers 5,437 sq.ft. of retail space on the ground floor and 5,245 sq.ft. on the lower level, with 90 feet of frontage on the Avenue of the Americas and 70 feet on 55th Street. Planet Hollywood Names New President

Christopher R. Thomas

Christopher R. Thomas, former president and chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based Sizzler USA and chief financial officer of its parent company Sizzler International, Inc., signed on with Planet Hollywood as president and future member of the company’s board of directors. He will also serve as Planet Hollywood’s CFO.

The Orlando, Florida-based company recently emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization with $30 million in new investments and $25 million in new credit facilities and a significant reduction of outstanding debt and other obligations. In announcing the appointment of Thomas, PH Chairman Robert Earl said that the company had new celebrity stockholders and plans for new restaurant locations as well as the launch of a Web site.

Diane Carpenter Joins MCG Architecture

MCG Architecture named Diane Carpenter as director of business development for the firm’s Irvine, San Diego and Las Vegas offices.

Carpenter was previously marketing director for Langdon Wilson Architecture Planning Interiors in Irvine, California. Carpenter began her career in the real estate industry in 1984 as director of the Commercial Industrial Development Association (CIDA), administering all aspects of the organization. For two years during this time, she served as director of the National Association of Industrial & Office Parks.

Coldwater Creek Hires Staubach Company

Retail expansion plans for catalog retailer Coldwater Creek resulted in hiring the services of Dallas-based Staubach Company to handle market and site selection. Full-line retail stores are scheduled to open this summer in Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Cincinnati. The stores will occupy between 7,000 sq.ft. and 10,000 sq.ft and carry Coldwater Creek’s lines of women’s apparel, jewelry, gifts and home accessories. The retailer has identified 80 potential sites in 29 states using its proprietary database of nearly nine million customer names to pinpoint the best possible markets.

Internally, Coldwater Creek has bumped up its retail team, naming Tom Bosch as senior vice president and director of retail, Skip Jones as vice president and director of retail store operations, and Audrey Milch and Kim Sorensen as district managers for full-line stores.

Frank Moody Takes Over at Landau & Heyman

Frank Moody

Frank Moody was appointed president of Landau & Heyman. Hired in February 1999 as an advisor to the firm, Moody will now oversee all day-to-day operations of the company and its management services. His duties will include the supervision of asset management, leasing, marketing services, corporate communications, and operations of the 15 enclosed shopping malls and four non-enclosed centers currently in the Landau & Heyman portfolio.
Other personnel changes at Landau & Heyman include the hiring of Monica Smith, leasing specialist; Robyn Lidskin, leasing specialist; and Carol O’Grady, director of marketing and corporate communications; all were formerly with General Growth Properties.
