General Growth Properties is developing an upscale retail village at The Village at Lakeside, a center located in Sterling Heights, MI. The village will include an outdoor shopping plaza, a tree-lined Main Street, a pedestrian-friendly streetscape, a gateway linking the village with the interior mall and a home furnishing store, lifestyle and apparel shops, four upscale restaurants and a bookstore. Area demographics include a population of 423,800 within seven miles earning $68,300 as the average household income. The company also is redeveloping Cumberland Mall located in Atlanta, GA. The redevelopment will include a major exterior and interior renovation. A pedestrian-friendly streetscape will add 77,000 sq.ft. offering a variety of upscale dining options, specialty retailers and fresh design features.
