Frank Theatres provides a fun movie experience for the entire family by Joe Dyton
For Frank Theatres, the key to success has been simple; pay attention to
detail.
Frank Theatres has been providing families with a place to watch movies for 85
years. Its theaters are equipped with Dolby Digital sound, wall-to-wall curved
screens, full stadium seating and high back rocking chairs with the much-coveted
flip-up armrests. While the theaters feature cafes at its locations, they also
offer the traditional snacks such as candy, soda and of course popcorn, which
Frank Theatres spices up with its own special seasoning.
Frank Theatres created a few “clubs” to accommodate its customers with special
events, so everyone can enjoy the movie experience. One of these is a Mom’s
Club, which is designed for mothers who want to go to the movies and take their
young children with them. The theater keeps the lights on, so the children won’t
get scared. The theatres also have nights that are devoted to foreign and art
films and email lists that provide viewers with current listings and
announcements. Theater promotions include Family Days, which takes place on
Mondays where admission for parties of two or more is $6 for all shows. Also, at
South Cove Stadium 12 in Bayonne, NJ and Towne Stadium 16 in Egg Harbor
Township, NJ, there’s an Early Morning Shopper’s Show, which takes place on
Wednesdays, where admission for the 10 a.m. show is only $4.
With all that Frank Theatres already has to offer, the company has its sights
set on bigger things. Frank Theatres is currently in the process of developing
entertainment centers to go alongside its movie theaters. The venues will
include billiard rooms, 40-lane extreme bowling alleys and sushi bars. The
company is planning to open six entertainment centers within the next two years.
The entertainment concept will occupy spaces of 75,000 sq.ft. to 120,000 sq.ft.
Frank Theatres currently operates eight locations throughout, FL and NJ. The
theater chain’s current locations include Beach Stadium 12 in Beach Haven Park,
NJ; Beach 4 Theatre in Cape May, NJ; Town Stadium Theatre 16 in Egg Harbor, NJ;
Harbor 5 Theatre in Stone Harbor, NJ; Moorlyn Stadium 4 Theatre in Ocean City,
NJ; Strand 5 Theatre in Ocean City, NJ; South Cove Stadium 12 in Bayonne, NJ and
Galleria Stadium 12 in South Venice, FL. The company soon will be opening the
following theaters. Rio Stadium 12, in Rio Grande, NJ; Hammonton Stadium 12 in
Hammonton, NJ; Gettysburg Stadium 12 in Gettysburg, PA; Laurel Stadium 16 in
North Venice, FL and Northgate Stadium 14 in Durham, NC.
One of the main reasons the chain is able to expand consistently is because of
its adaptability. The company is willing to convert just about any building into
a theater. Supermarkets, bowling alleys, it doesn’t matter. Frank Theatres will
make it work. The chain also boasts strong bank relationships in the
Philadelphia, PA and New Jersey shore areas, which allows for great access to
capital.
Frank Theatres occupy spaces of 35,000 sq.ft. to 60,000 sq.ft. Growth
opportunities are sought throughout DE, FL, MD, NC, NJ, PA, SC, VA and WV. The
company is seeking sites along the eastern seaboard with a high traffic count,
good access, visibility and parking. Land areas of six to 10 acres are required.
Neighborhood and development sites will be considered for joint ventures and
acquisitions.
