Entertainment ,Specialty Projects Roundup HCW Development Co., LLC is planning to develop The Towers at Branson Landing, a mixed-use center located between U.S. Route 65 and Lake Taneycomo in Branson, MO. The $300 million master-planned project will offer the only lifestyle retail, restaurant and waterfront entertainment district in the region. The site occupies a land area of 95 acres, including 1.5 miles of waterfront and is walking distance from the edge of the Branson tourism district. Drawing inspiration from its picturesque waterfront setting as well as its Ozarks ancestry, the Branson Landing project will offer its projected 4.5 million annual visitors nearly 450,000 sq.ft. of retail shopping, anchored by Bass Pro Shop and Belk Department Store. Additionally, there will be a 220,000 sq.ft. convention center and Branson, Missouri tourism center, a flagged four-star 260-room convention hotel, a 100-room boutique hotel, 140 waterfront luxury condominiums and penthouses and a marina. A cross-section of restaurants, from fine dining on the waterfront with views to casual fare for shoppers on the go, Branson Landing project will offer numerous restaurant and dining choices. The development will also be anchored by a new town square at the culminating point of the city of Branson’s celebrated Main Street that will serve as the complex’s entertainment headquarters. A new water feature on Lake Taneycomo, created by the foremost fountain designers of the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas, will showcase a nightly music, light and water show. The project will include 128 homes, featuring a combination of studios and one-and two-bedroom condominiums and approximately 14,000 sq.ft. of retail in an eight-story structure, restored, two-story building. The location in Hayes Valley offers access to the Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall, the Asian Art Museum, fashionable boutiques and upscale restaurants. AEG is planning to develop l.a. live, a more than $1 billion, four million sq.ft. downtown Los Angeles, CA sports and entertainment district. Located adjacent to the Staples Center, the l.a. live project, considered the largest development in the history of Los Angeles, will host a mix of venues and facilities. The development will include regional headquarters for ESPN and a sports entertainment venue in a 120,000 sq.ft. broadcast studio that will be home for a number of live and taped programs. Included in the building will be the ESPN Zone, a multi-level restaurant, sports bar and game area. An approximately 10,000 sq.ft. radio broadcast center is also planned for live radio in an adjacent building. Regal Entertainment is planning to develop a 90,000 sq.ft. cinema complex with 3,700 seats and featuring digital sound, stadium seating and state-of-the-art projection systems. This flagship theater will serve as a new venue for movie premieres and special screenings. The Grammy Museum will be housed in a 28,000 sq.ft. space designed for a permanent display of music genres and the science of recorded music as well as new interactive presentations recognizing past and present Grammy winning artists. The Conga Room is a Latin-flavored club. It will be two stories, featuring a 6,500 sq.ft. ground-floor restaurant and radio broadcast facilities and a 9,200 sq.ft. live entertainment and nightclub space upstairs. Gladstone’s 4 Fish, Junior’s Deli Boys, Il Moro, Katsuya and New Zealand Natural will provide a variety of dining opportunities. Agreements with P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and French 75 are in the final stages of negotiations. Hilton Hotels is planning to operate the Los Angeles Convention Center Hotel, a four-star facility with 1,100 guest rooms, approximately 160,000 sq.ft. of meeting, ballroom and amenity spaces, retail and other guest services. Other key components include NOKIA Theatre, a 7,000-seat live performance venue; a 40,000 sq.ft. open-air plaza designed to accommodate broadcast events, outdoor concerts and festivals; an interactive museum; numerous fine dining, casual and ethnic restaurants, as well as nightclubs and bistros, a four-level building that will include restaurants, a unique marketplace, cooking classes with celebrity chefs, food channel broadcasting, thematic/educational attractions, corporate offices and garden terraces and 4,000 apartments and condominiums within three blocks of the sports and entertainment district.
